We have added a new addition to our household. Life is busy and I am exhausted. This blog is an attempt to put my ideas out there but also to proclaim and reclaim my Faith. I made a feeble attempt at it over a year ago, but I am hoping to get back on the wagon and rekindle the fire.
Blessing Overflow
Charlie is our newest addition. He is the perfect blend of Matt and me. His light features and hazel eyes are there to prove that he is both of ours. Wide-eyed and charming are how I would describe him thus far. It's not everyday that you see a 2 month old who seems ready to walk and talk. He is making the O sound and cooing already and I think if he could just master holding his head up he would be mobile. What a joy to see him grow and learn.
Apprehension
We knew that bringing another child into this world would be awesome and challenging all at once. I mean, lets face it, as Christians we know that the world isn't getting any better. I think about the reality that they are coming into everyday. When I see the news I fear for their future. Matt and I are doing all we can, but I want to be like a mother hen and keep them hidden and covered from some of the realities of this world. My daughter is starting to pick up on things. She has had bad dreams and sometimes tells me that she is afraid. I encourage her to pray and talk to Jesus when she feels that way. I also remind her that Jesus doesn't want us to be afraid. He is ALWAYS watching over us. I can't wait until we are in heaven and we can finally feel completely safe. I hug Lela and Charlie everyday (multiple times a day) and I tell them that I love them. I hope that this gives them a feeling of safety and peace. I can't wait until the day when I can collapse into my Heavenly Father's arms and feel that complete peace.
"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones God's messengers! How often I have wanted to gather your children together as a hen protects her chicks beneath her wings, but you wouldn't let me." Matthew 23:37
The Father runs to His son and embraces him (from the parable of The Prodigal Son):
"And he arose and came to his father. But while he was yet at a distance, his father saw him and had compassion and ran and embraced him and kissed him. And the son said to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.”
But the father said to his servants, "Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet; and bring the fatted calf and kill it, and let us eat and make merry; for this my son was dead, and is alive; he was lost, and is found." And they began to make merry." Luke 15: 20 – 24
